SOUTHWEST TOW OPERATORS PRESS RELEASE
Southwest Tow Operators held their organizational meeting on Saturday, June 17, in Austin, TX. Heavy rains did not keep towers from traveling over 300 miles to share their ideas on what they want and need from a towing trade association.
Several industry leaders were there to share their ideas on things that towers need from a trade organization. Bernie Goldman, Health Insurance Specialist, presented a benefits package available to Southwest Tow Operator members. The benefits package includes major medical, life insurance, dental insurance, and vision coverage at discounted rates. Several attendees expressed enthusiasm over the savings they will realize by enrolling in the benefits.
We also sponsored a TXDOT Title and Lein Seminar at Texas Tow Expo in August. Over 60 attendees were educated on TXDOT lein procedures. Monica Blackwell, Chief of Titles for TXDOT presented the seminar. Gene Forrester, with the Dallas County Constable’s office assisted with the Law Enforcement perspective of processing abandoned vehicles.
Texas Tow Expo donated free booth space for our organization which gave us an opportunity to talk to several hundred towers from all over the country. Several follow up items will be addressed as a result of the meeting and will be discussed at our next meeting in San Antonio on Saturday, August 12th, during the Texas Tow Expo. Southwest Tow Operators is also sponsoring a seminar on Texas title and lein processing for abandoned vehicles. Monica Blackwell of TXDOT will present the training. There will also be a seminar on how to market your services and increase business. This seminar will be put on by Southwest Tow Operators.
